Yoga nidra is a systemic method that enables one to experience deep states of meditation.  It can be done by anyone at any age even if they have never meditated before.  

It was brought to the world in 1965 by one of India’s great spiritual leaders, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, who saw an epidemic of stress and tension on the horizon due to our inability to adapt to the pace of modern life and relax.
