Yogi Cameron: Hi, everyone. I'm Yogi Cameron.
Yogini Jaima: I'm Yogini Jaima.
Yogi Cameron: This is Inspire Living. The wonderful thing we're going to speak about is hot water. It seems simple, but it does so much for the body.
Yogini Jaima: Yes.
Yogi Cameron: One of the things we do is we drink two or three cups a day. We're also getting it through the herbal teas that we drink. Now, what is so great about hot water? Even science is starting to speak about it these days-
Yogini Jaima: Absolutely.
Yogi Cameron: -because hot in the Ayurvedic term is cleaning, so when we put something like hot water into our system it cleans, and because we're taking in so much toxicity these days from our cell phones, from our TV, from conversations, the pollution in the air, we will always need cleaning. The body does two things. It's a cleaning machine and it's a nutrition machine, so we get nutrition from food and all those things, but we constantly need to be cleaning and that needs to happen efficiently. Hot water really is and aid in that. It constantly is just flushing us and we're getting all this toxicity out of our system, and because we take them in at such a rate, especially everybody who lives in big cities, we need more of it. If you live out in the countryside you're taking in a lot of good air you need maybe less of it, but hot water is one of those magic things that just cleanses the body on a deep cell level.
Yogini Jaima: How water was like a miracle cure for me. It was the simplest thing. I was almost in disbelief when I was told to drink it. It was the first Ayurvedic remedy for my acid reflux. I suffered for years all throughout my teens and into my 20s before I came to Ayurveda with acid reflux and was taking acid reflux medication, which still wasn't helping and I was getting side effects from it. Then I was told to wake up every morning and drink a hot cup of water, or drink a hot cup of water about half an hour after eating a meal. I said, okay, I'll try that. When I ... immediately it started working, it immediately started working and I have never had to take anything other than a cup of hot water for any digestive problems that I may have.
Yogi Cameron: Yeah, digestive issues are a big thing for everybody. This is one of those miracle cures and it's so simple. You have access to it, you can get it at any time, you can get it at any restaurant. Everywhere you go you really can do this. It's not one of those things you have to remember. It's like breathing.
Yogini Jaima: It's always there or you.
Yogi Cameron: It's always there for you. Start to add this into your diet, see how it works and as you do more of it, believe us, you're going to want to do more and more because when something's that powerful and that simple you just can't live without it.
Yogini Jaima: It's also been known now, studies are showing to reduce stress, which is interesting because we can think of a cup of hot tea or a hot drink kind of relaxes the body, but it does. If you think about it that way rather than drinking cold water, definitely don't do that, but drink warm water throughout the day and it can kind of ease that tension in the body.
Yogi Cameron: Yeah. Absolutely. The stomach is warm already so when you put hot water in there warm it doesn't cool it down, it helps it, it strengthens it. Whereas if you put cold water down there the acid has to heat that cold water up so it weakens the acid in the stomach. That's why your temperature doesn't drop always when you drink cold water. It's a hot day, you drink cold water, you feel a little refreshed, but suddenly you get hot again. That's because your body temperature just went up trying to heat that cold water. Hot water is the way to go even in hot weather. It helps you to sweat a little bit. It puts a film of water on your skin, the air hits it, it's natural air conditioning. We could go on and on, but it-
Yogini Jaima: That is very helpful in India.
Yogi Cameron: Yeah. Really try to do this, really benefit from it, and it's all in doing so really try it out and we hope you really benefit from it. Namaste.
Yogini Jaima: Namaste.
