Yogi Cameron: Hi everyone, I'm Yogi Cameron.
Yogini Jaima: And I'm Yogini Jaima. We wanted to share with you a practice on how to increase your intake of herbs, because we all want more herbs in our body for our immune system and to bring us balance.
But it's often difficult in our busy schedules, or if we're at the office, or running our kids around, to be able to home-cook meals and add the herbs, or to continuously take herbal teas throughout the day. So this brings us to.
Yogi Cameron and Yogini Jaima: The jug.
Yogi Cameron: So the jug is great because it's a thermos, and if you have one at home already, that's great. The herbs tend to sit in there in that boiling water and get more potent during the day. So it's a way that you don't have to keep going to the kettle, keep filling it up and doing that ritual. We do that ritual three or four times a day. We use it as a break, in a way, to get away from our computers and all that.
But sometimes you're just too busy, right? So we have this for busy days and we make it in the morning, then we set our day in the right direction, because then I could just grab a cup on the go, I'm on my computer, on my phone and all that. And the nice thing is, you get more tired during the day, two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock, where it comes around.
Yogini Jaima: So true.
Yogi Cameron: And you start getting more fatigued. So what happens is, is the herbs sit in there, and the formulations that you use will get more potent. So they're weaker during the morning when you don't need as much energy, but then in the afternoon they really kick in, especially if you're using things like green tea and turmeric and ashwagandha and all that kind of great herbs. But this is something that you should invest in, if you haven't already.
Yogini Jaima: And it does get better by the day. A friend of ours was over the other night and he was like, "Oh my gosh, this ginger tea is so amazing. "What is in it? "Where did you get it?" And we were like, "Yeah it literally is." And that's why I'm gonna share this with you. Slices of fresh ginger.
All you have to do is cut it up, throw it into the jug or thermos, add hot water. I like to squeeze a little bit of fresh lemon into it, and that's it, let it sit, and it gets better by the hour, and by the end of the day it's strong, but it's so lovely and healing.
Yogi Cameron: Yeah, very convenient. And if you have a little sweet tooth, you can add a little bit of honey there.
Yogini Jaima: Yes.
Yogi Cameron: I throw that in 'cause I know I have a little sweet tooth.
Yogini Jaima: And you don't have to add the honey to the jug. You can keep the jug as just ginger water, tea, and then add it to your cup. So it doesn't have to always be sweet all day long.
Yogi Cameron: So no excuses for getting more herbs into your body. Herbs are medicines, right?
Yogini Jaima: Yes.
Yogi Cameron: So you want as much of them in your body as possible, because they're going to help you during the winter months where you're gonna get the flu, when you get extra tired, when your immune system is down. If you have this sort of concoctions in your body everyday, you'll see that you're much, much stronger down the road.
Yogini Jaima: So this makes it mindless and simple. Just make it in the morning and keep it with you all day long.
Yogi Cameron: Yeah, happy drinking.
Yogini Jaima: Namaste.
Yogi Cameron: Namaste.
